We released the first WP7 game “Air Soccer Tour” on September 6th, 2011. With continuous upgrades in features, rolled out 5 updates in 5 months.
February 29th, 2012 was a big milestone for us when we released Air Soccer for Windows 8 and it won the Microsoft First Apps Contest for Windows 8.
April 5th, 2012 was also a big milestone for us as we released the successor to Air Soccer Tour on WP7 with realtime online multiplayer feature – “Air Soccer Fever”. Its been one month since release and we are sending an update today for some feature enhancements.
Hopefully May 20th, 2012 will be another big milestone when we release Air Soccer Multiplayer for Windows 8 which will enable WP7 vs W8 gameplay.
So looking back at the journey, I wanted to share some statistics with you and to compare Air Soccer Tour vs Air Soccer Fever.

Air Soccer Tour – Downloads By Continent – WP7 game
With a total of 96,673 downloads, we are pretty close to the 100,000 mark 🙂 But looking closely at the graph, its evident that North American share is just 28% with the major share going to Europe. Why is this important? well, as Air Soccer Tour is an ad based free game – primarily monetized through Microsoft Pub Center, it matters where the most download share is. Pubcenter is the best ad network overall, and it has the best rates in the North America, but europe ecpm is not very good due to limited inventory. So 60% download share in Europe doesnt help much with revenue 🙂 but Pubcenter will expand and hopefully that will boost the revenue from Europe as well.

The daily download graph shows that Air Soccer Tour had a very slow start, partly because it was released as WP7 Mango game when Mango wasnt deployed to the masses yet. Daily downloads stayed under 400/day for teh first 2 months. There are some spikes that took it over 1200/daily downloads several times becaue it was in the featured list several times, but overall the daily download average stayed at about 550/day.

In the last 7 months Air Soccer Tour has received 1725 reviews worldwide with an average of 4.44 out of 5 start rating.
Air Soccer Fever – Realtime Online Multiplayer

With an amazing total of 35,666 downloads in just one month, Air Soccer Fever is on fire 🙂
This is partly due to the initial buzz we created about a first real time online multiplayer game for WP7 and the private beta conducted as well as porting over Air soccer Tour players to Air Soccer Fever.
But looking closely at the graph, its evident that North American share is just 18% with the major share going to Europe again. So we say Europeans love Soccer and Air soccer Fever 🙂
Air Soccer Fever – Daily Download Graph – WP7 Multiplayer Game
Its no surprise that from the total download number that we have been getting over 1000 daily downloads consistently and even peaking towards 1900 daily downloads towards the end of graph. During the hwole month, Air Soccer Fever has not been on the featured list yet (hoping Microsoft will feature the first realtime multiplayer game soon). However several things have helped during this. Cross-app promotion using @AdDuplex, Self promoting on Facebook, Twitter and an Awesome review by BestWP7Games.

In just one month, Air Soccer Fever has received 926 reviews worldwide with an average rating of 4.52 out of 5 stars. Pretty good 🙂 I do get annoyed by the occasional 1-star but what can we say, some people just dont appreciate a free game as much as I would like em to 🙂
Other Stats
Air Soccer Fever is averaging 5150 daily active unique users while we still have 3100 daily active unique users on Air Soccer Tour. Hopefully they will port over soon.
At its peak Air soccer Tour had 6100 daily active unique users.
Air Soccer Fever is averaging over 13000 daily game sessions with 68000 realtime online matches played in one month. Median session length is 5 minutes.
Most importantly – The concurrent online players playing realtime multiplayer peaks at 30 users daily…which means 15 concurrent online matches.
